Intuitive Cursor Control using Optical Processing Software
Cheaper, more accesible touchscreens...
The problem with current touchscreen technologies
Introduction
Touchscreens are a key technology, especially in the education sector. There is a countless number of benefits that the interactivity brought by touch-screens can bring, for example it was proven to increase student engagement and make learning more enjoyable.
The problem our team is trying to tackle is that very often this technology is quite expensive, which makes it unnaccesible for a lot of educational establishments which often rely on small budgets to keep going. So far we have designed two prototypes, one based on interaction using a pen and the other is using a laser pointer. Both of these prototypes are very cheap to manufacture, so schools etc can spend more of their budget on other important things instead of spending it on other expensive technologies.
Please have a look around our website to find out more. The details page contains more information about the problem we are trying to adress, the products page contains the technical specification of our prototype, and the benefits page describes the advantages our product could bring. If you need to contact us the details are on the about page.
To conclude, we hope you find the information here useful and interesting. Based on our findings we think that our proposal would make a positive contribution to the education sector, making technology more accessible in places where it wouldn't normally be.
