Conclusion

This report proposes an integration of hydroelectricity generation and water purification into a water gravity micro dam as means to provide the basic necessities for a remote community. Discussions made give key points on the equipment fabrication process, mainly micro hydro generator based on the geographical features of the selected area. Distribution of electricity and clean water can be made possible with organized control system that divides the power between community usage and the purification system. Efficiency and cost evaluation also indicate that thousands of pounds can be saved by selecting right tool and building the parts as compared to buying ready-made set from the range of products in market. Therefore this project is realistic, economically viable and technically achievable. It is still not ready for implementation, but it will easily be by completing the remaining experiments and studies mentioned in the report. Furthermore with the help of various NGO/charity organisations (ex. Raleigh International) we can extend this project to more sites around the world. This will be a step forward in bridging the gap between the modern world and to those in need.
