EE3-JPRJ EIE3 MEng Project

Lecturer(s): Dr Jeremy Pitt; Dr Yiannis Demiris

Aims:
All Students do a Third Year Project as part of a group, or alternatively an Industrial Elective. There is one large group broken into teams; essentially everyone works on different aspects of the problem. The aim of the course is to apply ISE skills to solving a substantial open-ended challenge in signal processing, distributed computing, intelligent agents, e-commerce and robotics.

Learning Outcomes:
As well as developing programming skills, students get experience in scheduling and managing a large, "long term", open ended project. In addition, the problem is set so that the groups are notionally competing, but need to co-opeate (e.g. by defining standard interfaces for interoperability) with other teams to deliver a working system.

Syllabus:
3rd year group project or industrial elective. If group project, intelligent agents and multi-agent system.
