Landmines - A World Wide Problem

  mine
No one believes that civilians should suffer from landmine explosions. Every year there are more than 24,000 people involved in landmine related incidents, of which around 10,000 are killed, 90% of these victims are ordinary civilians. Among these, 30-40% are children under 15. It costs approximately 20 times more to remove a landmine than to plant it. Humantarian demining is an expensive and dangerous job.

What is C-mos?

family C-Mos, Computerised Mine Observation System, is an autonomus robot assistant  for mine detection.

Our aim with C-mos is to provide a low cost mine detection assistant for humanitarian demining. It is designed to be easy to use, have a better detection rate than the most common mine detectors and work long side with the SOP, Standard Operation Procedure. Our  robot would reduce the amount of time a deminer work on hazardous ground.

This project would be able to help return land to local people who are unfortunately living in a dangerous area, improving their economic situation by developing the land for farms or construction use.
