Humanitarian demining – Differs from military demining, where 80% to 90% clearance is accepted. United Nations defined humanitarian demining as 99.6% clearance rate in areas with no military presence.

  PI – A type of metal detector, stands for pulse inductive. Electromagnet pluses are emitted and current induced in metal   objects are detected.

SOP – Stands for standard operation procedure. It consists of four steps: trip wire test, vegetation removal, metal detection and prodding the ground.
