Ekaterina Bayguzina:
Hello! I come from Saint-Petersburg, the cultural, economic and scientific centre of Russia. By the way, one of the largest manufacturers of glass and ceramic tubes in the world – “Svetlana” – is located there!
When I am free from studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial (which I enjoy in spite of the intensity and difficulty of the course!), I like doing sports, especially skiing and swimming, and dancing. I am also fond of listening to music, and I belong to those music fanciers who think that when you listen to an original vinyl record and use a VALVE amplifier, this actually makes a difference to the sound you get! This was one of the decisive moments for me when we started this project =)
Qinxin Liu:
Hi there, I'm Qinxin Liu but people usually call me Cooper and I prefer that way as well. From the very far land I came here to weave my dream. Basically, I'm a guy who likes music a lot , especially those noisy (heavy) ones (yes, I'm on Ye Tian black list!). Before I came here, I always thought EEE life was full of happiness. However, things did work out the way I thought. The reality is always painful and suffering.
In this project, I played the role of the vice-captain, in other words, the assistant of our great leader - Sir Hamza.
I was assigned to be in charge of the constructing of the history section. More specifically, I did quite a bit of research from everywhere and wrote a section on the structure and principle of operating for the earlier valve diodes and triodes.
After I finished my task, I also wrote a small section on travelling wave tubes and helped Ngai-han with his website design work.
All in all, Hamza was a great leader. He tried so hard to lie to himself that he liked this project so much, but we all know the truth, lol. Thanks for his wise leadership, we all put great efforts on this project and hopefully we will receive what we deserve(100%).
Ngai-Han Liu:
My name is Ngai-Han, the Ngai part is phonetically pronounced the same as "nigh" (e.g. the end is nigh). I like to play the piano, sometimes learn the guitar, build PCs, overclock them then play computer games. In my spare time I study electrical and electronic engineering. Though I try to keep my priorities in check. Before university I used to do a lot of sport - rugby and athletics for 7 years to a very high level. These days I wear through the backside of my jeans quickest because I'm always sitting down.
This website took quite a long time for me to make. I read some books on HTML when I was in primary school but I ended up learning how to do a full CSS website for this project and some actionscript 3 coding for the flash animation. More pain than meets the eye, trust.
Ye Tian:
Hello! More than twenty years ago, although the world is already full of 6 billion people, I came to the crowded world and began my own wonderful life trip with you. Therefore, I think everybody in the world exists for a reason. Two years ago I left my motherland and had a new adventure here in UK. Although the life style is totally different from home, but nothing is absolutely bad in life. Happiness never comes without difficulties. As a normal human being(I guess), I like all kinds of sports like tennis, badminton, swimming and so on. About the music, I hate anything that sounds too noisy. For this reason, rock is always top of my black list.
Life is not easy, but please believe we can get through it happily.
Hamza Javed:
Hi, as you probably know from Qinxin’s section, I was the leader of our group and like my colleagues, am also studying EEE at Imperial College. However, when I’m not trying to build complicated resistive circuits or watching the Return of the King, you can usually find me playing table tennis and destroying the opposition with my solid back-hand smash. Besides that, I wouldn’t say no to a good movie or just hanging out with the few friends I have. I’d like to also take this opportunity to thank everyone in my group for their hard work! I hope you enjoyed browsing through our website and were, like us, able to learn something new about these remarkable devices.
Yunzhi Wang:
Hi!
My name is Yunzhi Wang.
I like travelling very much. I prefer wandering in alcohol ridden alleys, than to stay in a warm house. That is everything you need to know about me.
My task in this project is to complete the present part research of vacuum tube with Ngai-Han, and I demonstrated the principle of magnetron and the cathode ray tube and their applications. Also I am the treasurer of our group. I organised colleague to visit the vacuum tube in the science museum.
